Drop Anantkumar Hegde from cabinet: Dalit forum

organizations staged a protest here on Tuesday demanding action against Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship Anantkumar Hegde for allegedly making anti-Dalit remarks.

Vividha Dalit Sangha Samsthegala Mahamandala, the protesters burnt an effigy of Hegde and demanded that action be taken against him under the Atrocities Act. Dalit leader Peetambrappa Balar stated in a memorandum to chief minister Siddaramaiah that Hegde has been criticising Dalit activists and had compared them to street dogs.

The protesters urged the Centre to drop Hegde from the Cabinet and threatened that they will picket offices of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh across the state if no action is taken against him.
