DHARWAD: Rich tributes were paid to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at a function organized to mark his birth anniversary at Rastrothhana Vidya Kendra here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Mrinal Joshi recalled the services rendered by Deendayal and his love for the nation. She called upon the students to draw inspiration from the lives of great leaders who struggled to make India free.
She described Pt Deenadayal as a man of sacrifice.
Mrinal inaugurated Swadeshi Week being observed as part of Deendayal's birth anniversary. During Swateshi Week, to be observed till Gandhi Jayanti, the students will be enlightened about the importance of using indigenous goods and protecting environment. A rally will be organized on October 1.
