CHITRADURGA: Deficit rainfall has created panic among people of the drought-hit district. People of all communities are praying for rain and worshipping the Mother Nature in form or the other. On Friday scores of Muslims from different villages walked up to the dry tank bed and offered prayers for rain at Dharmnapura.
The Mutuvali of Jamia masjid, Bashasab led the procession and conducted prayers to appease the rain god.

The historical tank here has been dry for more than 25 years and no efforts have been made to augment it with water, he lamented. After they offered prayers at the tank bad, the community members went in procession to Jamia Masjid where they performed Friday prayers, appeasing rain god.
