Corrupt clerk suspended
Davanagere DC K Amaranarayana suspended a clerk attached to Sokke GP of Jagalur taluk for "allegedly" taking bribe from a client.
Obaiah, a second-division clerk (SDC), was trapped by a Lokayukta inspector while receiving Rs 700 from one Choudappa of Tamalehalli in Jagalur taluk to grant honorarium for the disabled.
The DC suspended Obaiah following a letter by the Lokayukta about his taking the bribe.
