HUBLI: Police personnel went on a snap strike for a few hours at Gokul Road police station here on Monday night, protesting against what they called "unfair treatment from their seniors".
Some personnel who were suspended on Sunday went on strike, saying they were not heard during the initial inquiry. They, along with some of their colleagues, sat in dharna in front of Gokul Road police station and demanded that their senior hear their grievances.

They resumed duty after they were assured of proper action by their seniors.
Deputy police commissioner Chandiram Singh had suspended four constables on charges of forceful entry and misbehaving with inmates of a government hostel for children on Sunday night. However, the suspended personnel denied charges, claiming they were sent there by their seniors to look into a complaint that there was a burglar in the hostel. Some media reports said the police had barged into the hostel at night and disturbed the children there. After an initial inquiry, the DCP suspended the personnel. The latter claimed that the officer conducting the inquiry did not give them a chance to present their viewpoint.
Singh said the personnel had met police commissioner R H Auradkar to request him to withdraw their suspension. He also denied the personnel were protesting. "They were only waiting in their police station to meet me to submit their grievances," he added.
