HUBBALLI: An anti state government Facebook post has proven costly for a police constable attached to Hubballi town police station as
Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner
has suspended the constable for seeking the resignation of chief minister
H D Kumaraswamy for not announcing farm loan waiver.
Police commissioner
M N Nagaraj
suspended the constable, Arun Dollin (CPC - 2542), on Tuesday for ‘unwanted’ postings on Facebook, pending departmental inquiry. In one of his posts, Dollin allegedly wrote, “Farm loan is not waived even though it has been 18 days since the new government was formed. When are you going to resign, chief minister Kumaraswamy?”
Nagaraj stated in the suspension order that the constable has insulted the chief minister and the government despite being a government employee, and thereby showed indiscipline and misconduct.
Soon after his suspension, the screenshots of his alleged postings on Facebook went viral on social media. The posts appear to be pro-BJP and anti-Congress. He also shared posts endorsing prime minister
Narendra Modi.
