Congress demands Hegde’s scalp over Constitution remarks
Congress workers stage a rally, demanding the ouster of Union MoS Anantkumar Hegde for his alleged remarks on changing the Constitution
Dharwad: The Dharwad City and Rural Congress SC/ST wing took out a rally and staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here on Thursday, condemning the alleged remarks by Union minister of state for skill development Anantkumar Hegde about changing the Constitution.
Demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi drop Hegde from the ministry, the protesters said that the minister spoke lightly of the Constitution which assures equality and freedom of speech and expression.

Later, they submitted a memorandum at the deputy commissioner’s office addressed to the President. Anand Mushannavar, Shankar Hosmani and Mahesh Hulennavar were among those who participated in the protest.
Hegde’s remarks came at a public programme in Kukanoor, Koppal district.
