BIJAPUR: It is the responsibility of each physical education teacher to encourage students to take part in sports, said P K Tiwari, registrar of Gulbarga University, at a two-day workshop on quality improvement of physical education and sports activities in Pre-University colleges here at Women varsity on Monday. Physical education instructors should coordinate with management to minimize scarcity of sports facilities, said Tiwari.

The UGC is keen on funding sports development activities, hence colleges can make use of it. Chief guest, University Syndicate member Sharanabasappa Arakeri said financial help will be given to poor women students for higher level sports meets at various places.
