City skater wins gold at national-level championship

Pooja Manoli, a first year student of Nutan PU Science College here bagged a gold medal for her achievement at the recently held 46th National-level roller skating championship at Faridabad, Haryana.

DAVANAGERE: Pooja Manoli, a first year student of Nutan PU Science College here bagged a gold medal for her achievement at the recently held 46th National-level roller skating championship at Faridabad, Haryana.
She has been a skater practising at the Regal Roller Skating Club in Davanagere since 2003.
She has won several medals including 41 golds, 6 silvers and 2 bronze at national-level skating championships four times in Vishakapatnam and twice at Kolkata and Faridabad.

She has been a state champion for the past four years and was the individual champion for the state for three years successfully, said her parents Girish Manoli and Sangeetha Manoli.
She won gold and a silver medals during her selection trials at Bangalore recently. Looking at her achievements, Davanagere district administration honoured her recently.

Manoj C, a student of standard eight at Amritha Vidyalayam in Davanagere has bagged a silver medal at the 46th National-level roller skating championship at Faridabad. Jeevitha S G, a student of Bapuji High School won a bronze medal.
District planning and sports assistant director M Chandrashekhar, Regal Club office bearers K G Suresh Gowda, Girish Manoli and Chandrashekhar Rao V, congradulated the winners.
