DHARWAD: The pending works at Dharwad railway station will soon be completed, said SWR (Hubli zone) general manager Kuldeep Chaturvedi here on Friday.
Responding to the plea by various organizations during his visit to Dharwad railway station, Chaturvedi said the station is being expanded to offer more facilities.
The citizens' organizations led by Prahlad Narsapur, Venkatesh Desai, corporator Shivu Hiremath and others submitted a charter of demands to the GM. They urged him to take steps to fulfill them. The demands included extenstion of services of Bangalore-Hubli-Bangalore Janshatabdi Express up to Dharwad, construction of ramp for the passengers to reach the second platform, changing the departure time of Dharwad-Bangalore Inter-City Express from the present 5.20 am to 5.45 am, starting of new trains from Dharwad to Tirupati and from Hubli to Mumbai, construction of an overbridge to provide access to Kalyan Nagar and more reservation counters at the railway station.
