Boy goes missing from RIMS Hospital
Raichur: A nine-year-old boy who was admitted to RIMS Hospital in the city for burn injuries was found missing. Vishnu Nayak, the son of Nagalakshmi and Narasimha Nayak from Julamagera tanda in Raichur taluk, was using his mobile phone while it was charging on June 17. Suddenly, the charger caught fire, causing burns to his fingers. He was admitted to RIMS Hospital that same day.However, at 3am on June 22, his mother woke up to find her son missing. She and family members searched for the boy on the premises, but in vain. Adding to their miseries, the CCTV cameras in the hospital were not operational. She lodged a missing complaint at Market Yard police station in the city.Meanwhile, the boy's mother, clutching a photo of her son, continues her search. She regularly visits the general ward in room number 503 on the fifth floor of RIMS Hospital, where her son was admitted, hoping to see him return. Nagalakshmi said, "The negligence of the staff and officials at RIMS Hospital is the cause of my son's disappearance."According to police sources, they are employing all available resources to find the boy. When the TOI attempted to reach RIMS director Dr Ramesh BH, he was not available.
