Siddaramaiah campaigned for Congress candidate Samarth Shamanur in Davanagere on Monday
Bagalkot: Chief minister Siddaramaiah said BJP's Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and H Vishwanath have openly spoken about
BS Yediyurappa's corruption.
In response to questions from the media regarding Yediyurappa's accusation of betrayal against him, Siddaramaiah said Yediyurappa should specify whom did he betray and speak with evidence.
When asked about Yediyurappa's allegation that Siddaramaiah campaigned in Bagalkot because the candidate was from his caste, the CM replied that he campaigned in Davanagere South for Congress candidate Samarth Shamanur. "What caste is he from? We do not campaign based on caste. We campaign for the party's candidate," he said. He also questioned for whom Yediyurappa is campaigning in Bagalkot.
"We have received overwhelming support and we will win in both constituencies," he predicted.
HDK campaigns
Union minister HD Kumaraswamy campaigned for BJP candidate Veeranna Charantimath and warned women voters that Congress' guarantees and their freebies will weigh heavily on the state exchequer in coming years.
"Currently, state govt has borrowed a loan of over Rs 8.1 lakh crore. Siddaramaiah is using Ahinda to retain power," he added.
