Ballari civic body gets first woman chief

Ballari: Dr G R J Divya Prabhu, a 2014 batch IAS officer, and wife of deputy commissioner Dr Ramprasat V Manohar took charge as the commissioner of Ballari City Corporation on Monday. She is the first woman to head the civic body.Divya Prabhu took charge from Manjunath Nalvadi, who was on OOD. He has only six months of service left before his retirement. Divya Prabhu was earlier the assistant commissioner of Lingasugur in Raichur district. After taking over as the commissioner, she said her priority is clean and green city. “I will work hard for drinking water supply, streetlights, health, revenue collection and overall development of the city,” she said.
