Kalaburagi: Panchayat development officers (B-Grade) association's state director Rajeshwari Sahu demanded that the accused who threatened the PDO Imtiaz Mamadapur of Jewargi taluk should be arrested immediately.
She submitted a letter to minister Priyank Kharge and urged him to take action.
Ninganna, a resident of Billad village in Jevargi taluk, was accused of verbally abusing and threatening to kill the female gram panchayat development officer of Nedalagi, Imtiaz Mamadapur. Strict action should be taken against such persons, and a rowdy sheet should be opened, she said in the petition.
A case was registered against Ninganna, at Nelogi police station.
Nelogi police collected the audio clip from the complainant, in which the accused threatened the officer. The audio went viral in Jevargi taluk.
Rajeshwari demanded that the report of the Meenakshi Sundaram Study Committee, constituted on assaults and unnatural deaths of employees of the rural development and panchayat raj department, should be considered, and action taken to ensure the safety of employees.
Moreover, the issues of promotion, wage discrimination, and upgradation should be resolved. She requested the govt to upgrade all PDO posts to Group-B grade.
