Yallur GP members accuse officials of looting funds
Belagavi: Yallur gram panchayat member Satish Patil and Advocate Surendra Ugare alleged that attempts are being made in Yallur GP to ‘loot' Rs 54.2 lakh by creating fake documents for 29 development works. Despite their complaining, no action has been initiated from the zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat to stop the attempt to take money for works not done in the GP. Consequently, they complained to the Karnataka Lokayukta, naming the 12 accused, to carry out an investigation and requested the interrogation of the officers involved, including some GP members.Speaking to mediapersons in Belagavi on Thursday, Satish Patil and Surendra Ugare said it is shown that the husband of Yallur GP president Laxmi Masekar, who is registered as a contractor, completed 29 works. The GP development officer, taluk panchayat chief executive officer, and engineering department officials allegedly assisted the Yallur GP president in creating fake documents. A group of panchayat members, led by the GP president, passed a resolution in the panchayat meeting to approve these works. A resolution was illegally passed in the GP to release the money thus attempting to loot govt funds. They also appealed to the TP officials and the ZP CEO regarding this illegality.GP vice-president Pramod Patil, Shivaji Nandukar, Ramesh Menase, Parashuram Parit, Jyotiba Chougule, Manish Ghadi, Shalan Patil, and Sonali were present.
