Ahimsa Run on April 2
Hubballi: For peace and non-violence, Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) women's wing will conduct 'Ahimsa Run' on April 2 at 6 am in the city. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, JITO Hubballi chairman Prakash Kothari said the run will start from Sports Park on Kusugal Road and conclude at the same place. There run will be held in three categories such as 3 km, 5km and 10 km and the has been organised to unite people to spread the thoughts of Mahaveer on non-violence and peace. It will be held throughout the country. In Hubballi, 1,200 people have registered. One lakh people registered across the country in just one week and it has been recorded in the Guinness World Record, he added.Mukhyamantri Chandru to campaign for AAPHubballi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) campaigning committee chairman Mukhyamantri Chandru will be campaigning in Dharwad district and attend various public meetings. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, AAP state vice president Rohan Ainapur said Mukhyamantri Chandru will take part in various programs in the district on March 29 and on 30. On March 30, he will be visiting Hubballi-Dharwad East and Central constituencies to take part in events, bike rally, padayatre and public meetings. In Dharwad district, candidates for three constituencies have already been announced, the list for the remaining four constituencies will be announced soon, he said. Pvt bank fined Rs 57k Bagalkot: District Consumers’ Forum has imposed a total fine of Rs 57,000 on a private bank for seizing a vehicle without issuing notice to the loan taker, on Tuesday. Kallappa Kumbar had filed a plaint with the forum, alleging that his goods vehicle was seized by the bank and sold without his knowledge. Forum observed in its order that the complainant had paid his instalments from 2018 to 2021. “As he failed to repay instalments later, the bank seized the vehicle. When he approached the bank, he was directed to visit Hubballi office, where he learnt that his vehicle had been sold without transferring the ownership. Jamkhandi RTO issued notice to the owner about transfer of ownership,” it added. Forum has ordered the Bank to pay Rs 50,000 fine within 45 days, Rs 5,000 for mental agony and Rs 2,000 for court expenses.
