DHARWAD: Deputy director of pre-university education, Ravindra Ritti, highlighted the need for the students to be well-equipped to face the competitive world in the wake of fast-changing global scenario.
Speaking at a function to felicitate meritorious students at KE Board's PU College here recently, he said the changes in global economy, while throwing open several opportunities, had also created stiff competition and it is necessary to be competent to succeed.
Regretting that the present-day youth, while learning and earning more, had become indifferent to the traditional values, Ritti called upon the students to maintain the integrity and sovereignty of India.
More than 50 students, including Chidanand Hiremath, Basavaraj Madalli, Veena Kulkarni, Gadigeyya Hiremath, Annapurna Shindhe, Soumya Konnur and the parents of Pavan Deshpande, who represented Karnataka state Under-19 cricket team in the all-India tournament this year, were felicitated on the occasion. Muttappa Kariyavar and Swati Archak were adjudged the Best Boy and Girl Student of the college, respectively.
