DAVANAGERE: Eight spots of Davanagere district have been considered rare and ancient archeological monuments by Archeological Survey of India (ASI) 2010 Act. Accordingly, the following sites will have to be protected and conserved, an official release said: Uchangidurga port of Ucchangidurga, Bheemeshwara Temple of Neelagunda, Kalleshwara Temple of Bagali and Kalleshwara Temple of Haluvagilu (all of them are in Harapanahalli tlauk), historical port of Channagiri town, Musafir Khana and Pushkarni of Santebennur and Shahaji grave (tomb) of Hodigere (in Channagiri taluk) and Harihareshwara Temple of Harihar taluk.
