​7 killed in Bellary road crash

HUBLI: Seven passengers died on the spot and as many sustained injuries when their Tempo Trax rammed a bridge and overturned near Somasamudra in Bellary taluk on Monday afternoon.
Bellary superintendent of police Chandragupta told TOI the accident occurred due to the driver's negligence.
Fourteen passengers were travelling on the vehicle from Kurugod to Bellary.The injured persons were admitted to VIMS Hospital in Bellary, he said.
The deceased are Sadashiv, 57, resident of Bellary; Karibasavana Gouda, 50, Renukamma, 45 and Avi, 12, all residents of Jalibenchi village; Ambamma, 50, resident of Gududur; Srisha, 3, resident of Chintagunta and driver Venkatesh, 38, a resident of Kurugod.
A case has been registered with the Kurugod police.
