Agriculture minister S A Ravindranath said the government will build over three lakh houses for flood victims. He said around 540 houses will be built for the victims of Harapanahalli town by Govindaprasad Foundation.

DAVANAGERE: Agriculture minister S A Ravindranath said the government will build over three lakh houses for flood victims.
Addressing a gathering at Harapanahalli town after performing `guddali pooja' for building houses under Asare scheme recently, he said: "Around 540 houses will be built for the victims of Harapanahalli town by Govindaprasad Humanitarian Foundation."
Revenue minister G Karunakara Reddy, MP G M Siddeshwar, chief whip of legislative council Dr A H Shivayogiswamy, foundation chief Govindji, financial adviser to CM K V Raju, planning director B N Kiran, ZP chief Halamma, and DC K Amaranarayana were present.

Cells to monitor relief works
To ensure quality in relief works, quality monitoring committees will be formed, said Reddy. In this connection, a state-level quality control cell will be set up. The services of both taluk- and district-level officers will be utilized to ensure quality in relief works.
