3 consume poison in separate cases

DAVANAGERE: A mentally-ill person committed suicide by consuming poison at Hodigere village of Channagiri taluk. Police said Basavaraj (40), took the drastic step as he wasn't getting better despite taking treatment, according to a complaint lodged at the Channagiri police station.
In another case, a woman committed suicide by consuming poison at Hebbalu Hosalli village under Davanagere rural police station limits.Police said Lakshmamma (40), resorted to suicide, as her daughter went against her wishes by marrying a person she fell in love with.
In yet another case, a resident of Harapanahalli town, Basavaraj (40), committed suicide by consuming poison, after hearing that his wife had lost both her legs in a train accident recently.
Separate cases have been booked at the respective police stations. Further investigations are on, SP Venkatesh said.
