2 die as car hits wall in Dharwad

DHARWAD: Two persons were killed after their speeding car hit the protection wall of a bridge near Marewad, off Dharwad, on Tuesday. One of the deceased is a block-level Congress leader.

The deceased were identified as Yargatti Block Congress president Yeshwanth Somshekar Yaligar (25) and Akshay Kadkod of Munavalli (25). Police said the car was moving at a high speed towards Dharwad.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the wall of the bridge, killing both of them on the spot. A case is registered at Dharwad Rural Police Station and police said they will invesitigate the matter from all angles.
