2 dead, 3 hurt as car collides with lorry

Belagavi: Two people died and three were injured after a car carrying a family to Yellamma Temple in Saundatti collided with a cement-laden truck near Siddhapurwadi village in Chikodi taluk on Sunday morning.The deceased are Tukaram Koli, 72, and Kalpana Ajit Koli, 32, from Sangli in Maharashtra. The injured are Rukmini Koli, 62, Anuj Koli, 13, and Aditya Koli, 11. They were admitted to a private hospital in Chikodi.The Koli family from Sangli was travelling in the car to visit Yellamma Temple, while the cement-laden truck was coming from Belagavi in the opposite direction. While trying to make way for the truck on the Chikodi-Sangli Road, the car collided with it, resulting in deaths and injuries.
