On December 1, the Assamese version of A R Gurney’s ‘Love Letters’ will be staged at 7 pm.
“We would like to make this festival an annual affair if we get proper support and facilities. Our mission will be successful if people like our work. All the plays are beautiful and can draw the audience’s appreciation,” Zerifa said on Tuesday.
The actor is organizing the festival under her production house, Zerifa Wahid Production. Since 2008, her production house has produced eight plays. The theatre festival is her first.
The three plays to be staged during the festival are all directed by Abinash Sharma. “This is a unique festival where a single director will direct all the plays. I’m grateful to Zerifa for giving me this opportunity,” Sharma said.
Besides Zerifa herself, Kopil Bora, Ratul Bora, Juli Laskar, Asha Bordoloi, Mihirjyoti Barua and Jayanata Das will don the greasepaint for the festival.
