Woman hacked to death with sharp weapon in Itanagar

Itanagar: A 42-year-old woman was murdered with a sharp weapon in the ESS Sector of Itanagar late Tuesday night, police said.

Itanagar Capital SP Jummar Basar said the deceased has been identified as Yapi Potom, a resident of the area. She was taken to Ramakrishna Mission Hospital (RKMH) with injuries on Tuesday night. Doctors in the hospital declared her brought dead.

According to police, the incident took place between 11pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Daksen (Dagsen) Riram, allegedly attacked the woman with a ‘dao’ near her residence before fleeing the spot.
