Dimapur: Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram has assured the release of the pending final instalment of the central share for the CSS Post Matric Scholarship (2023-24) for ST student beneficiaries in Nagaland.
Oram provided this assurance during a meeting with Nagaland's minister for higher education and tourism, Temjen Imna Along, at the former's official residence in New Delhi on Monday.
According to an official release on Tuesday, Along highlighted the scholarship's importance for ST students in Nagaland and requested the release of the pending amount of Rs 1,274.01 lakh for the year 2023-24.
Along further proposed a review of the current system, which involves fund disbursement in three to four instalments. He suggested a shift to a single-instalment release to ensure timely support for ST students.
Expressing gratitude, Along thanked the Union minister for his positive response and willingness to address the concerns raised.
