Agartala: In an inspiring move aimed at uplifting 4.86 lakh rural women, Tripura chief minister Manik Saha on Sunday launched Samriddhi Abhiyan, a groundbreaking initiative under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM).
This programme is designed to enhance financial independence, improve credit access, and promote entrepreneurship among women. Saha emphasised that the Samriddhi Abhiyan seeks to strengthen self-help groups (SHGs) as cornerstones of inclusive progress, ensuring women can effortlessly access credit, fresh job opportunities, and pathways to entrepreneurship.
The SHG movement has become a crucial part of women’s empowerment in Tripura, currently involving over 4.86 lakh rural women who are members of 54,170 SHGs, along with 2,479 village organisations and 174 cluster-level federations (CLFs).
