Tripura CPM boycotts budget session
Agartala: Tripura's main opposition party CPM announced to boycott the assembly for remaining business days of ongoing budget session, accusing the speaker of undemocratic behaviour and partisan role in the House.CPM legislators staged a walkout after speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen rejected the privilege motion of leader of opposition Jitendra Chaudhury raised against parliamentary affairs minister Ratan Lal Nath for his alleged racial comment against Chaudhury during the budget discussion on Monday.Sen, at zero hour, said he had received two motions of privilege — one by Chaudhury and another by minister Nath — and asked the minister to move his motion. Nath alleged that CPM's mouthpiece Daily Desherkatha distorted his speech and highlighted a racial angle to create an ethnic disturbance and also dishonoured the speaker as well as tribal based party TIPRA Motha that breach the privilege of the minister.
