Silchar: A tragic incident unfolded on Friday morning at Brahmanshasan village in Sribhumi district, when a six-year-old boy was crushed to death by a power tiller.
Kaoser Ahmed accompanied his grandfather to a nearby vegetable field, when accidentally he came under the tiller while it was being used to till the field. While a severely injured Ahmed was immediately rushed to the Nilambazar govt hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
According to locals, the driver’s sheer negligence led to the death of the minor. Following the incident, police and Nilambazar circle officer reached the spot and seized the tiller. The driver, however, is absconding.
Later, Ahmed’s body was sent to Sribhumi civil hospital for autopsy.
