Agartala: Tripura CM Manik Saha on Thursday urged citizens to adopt a firm resolution in the new year to combat the rising cases of non-communicable diseases and cancer by embracing healthier lifestyles and raising awareness about preventive measures.
Saha revealed that in the past year, 6.8 lakh people in the state underwent screening for diabetes and high blood pressure. Of these, 25,259 were diagnosed with diabetes, and 49,153 were found to have high blood pressure. To tackle these health issues effectively, a campaign is being launched. The initiative aims to systematically implement screening, treatment, and follow-up programmes for non-communicable diseases, ensuring comprehensive care across the state, Saha said.
The CM also announced notable advancements in the state’s healthcare sector, including the introduction of an AI-powered pilot training module for tuberculosis.
This initiative reflects a significant step forward in adopting modern medical technologies while aligning with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of leveraging innovation for the welfare of society.
Saha stressed that the state govt remains committed to forward-thinking strategies to enhance public health outcomes.
