Silchar:
Trinamool Congress (TMC) intensified its campaign in the Barak Valley ahead of the upcoming polls, with former India cricketer and party MP
Yusuf Pathan leading rallies across multiple constituencies and expressing confidence of a strong electoral performance.
Pathan campaigned in Sonai, North Karimganj and South Karimganj on Monday, claiming that the party was receiving an “amazing” response from voters. “We are fully confident of our candidates’ victory. TMC is contesting 22 seats in Assam and we are hopeful of winning all of them,” he said. He asserted that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee would retain power in her state and set her sights on national politics in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
The campaign gathered momentum in the evening, with a massive roadshow in South Karimganj led by party candidate Aziz Ahmed Khan.
Addressing the media during the roadshow, Pathan said, “This unprecedented gathering reflects people’s desire for change. The support we are witnessing makes us confident that our candidate’s victory is only a matter of time.”
