Itanagar: The Indian Army’s Spear Corps team has entered the final stretch to summit the 6,488 metres Mount Gorichen in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district.
The summit bid is expected to commence shortly, defence PRO Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said on Monday. He said each phase has been meticulously planned to test physical fitness, mental resilience, and the seamless synergy of the team under high-altitude conditions.
The expedition to Mt Gorichen, revered by the local Monpa community as a sacred peak, was flagged off on Aug 20 with an aim of promoting adventure, resilience and team spirit.
