Dibrugarh: Union home minister
Amit Shah will inaugurate the first phase of Assam’s biggest multidisciplinary sports stadium in Dibrugarh on Jan 30, marking a milestone in the state’s sports infrastructure development.
The inauguration will take place during Shah’s visit to the upper Assam city, where he is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the second complex of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
The mega sports complex, constructed at a cost of Rs 233 crore across 104 bighas in Khanikar, Dibrugarh, represents one of the most ambitious sports infrastructure projects undertaken in Assam. The facility with a 35,000-seating capacity is expected to transform Dibrugarh into a major sports destination and provide world-class amenities for athletes across multiple disciplines.
Chairman of Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ATDCL) Rituparna Baruah announced the inauguration details on Sunday. “The first phase of this mega project will be formally inaugurated on Jan 30 by Union HM Amit Shah,” he said.
