Dimapur: The Nagaland govt on Wednesday issued a directive asking officials of various govt departments and the public to follow the step-by-step user guide for self-enumeration for the 15-day Phase-I Census 2027 exercise, to be held from June 16.The self-enumeration will be done in the portal https://se.census.gov.in.A govt notification said the self-enumeration (SE) is a process in the census in which residents fill and submit their household data online. The SE portal will remain open for 15 days prior to the start of house-to-house listing operations (HLO) by the enumerator. Opening date and active period will be displayed in the portal. The notification said the process may take approximately 15-20 minutes and after successful submission, a unique self enumeration ID (SE ID) will be generated.The notification listed nine steps for self-enumeration in the portal, such as access and initial login, household registration, language selection and OTP verification, location details of residence, locating residence on the map, completing the questionnaire, review of entered data, final submission, and field validation.The notification was issued in exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 8 (ii)b&(vii) of the Census Rules, 1990, made under the provisions of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948), and in conformity with the government's commitment to a Digital India initiative.
