Second body recovered from Arunachal's Tissa river
Itanagar: The 12th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force and the State Disaster Response Force team recovered the body of Laichat Wangpan (25) from the Tissa river near Otongkhao village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district on Saturday, an official report said.Laichat and his brother Wangthoa of Chasa village were returning home by crossing the Tissa river on a country-made boat on Wednesday, when Wangthoa slipped from the boat and fell into the river. His brother Laichat jumped in to rescue him and both were swept away by the strong current. While Wangthoa’s body was recovered on Thursday, Laichat’s body was found on Saturday. The duo, along with three others, had reportedly gone to Chopnu village to purchase meat. They were returning with two cattle. The other three members of the group had crossed the river safely.
