We looked for him for two days and then lodged an FIR," said Arup's father.
Police started an investigation in the case and found that Arup was kidnapped by some his seniors and friends from the neighbourhood. Police detained his friends and according to information from them found Arup's body from Amguri Hills of Karbi Anglong district. Arup was killed on August 8.
"We have arrested Mohan Terong, Dhing Das and Sanjay Chandra in connection with the murder. All of them were Arup's friends and planned the kidnapping for easy money. Some said they were into drugs but we are still investigating the case. Police are going to file a chargesheet soon," said an of Jagiroad police station.
Arup's remains have been sent for DNA tests. The three have been sent to Gauhati Central Jail on Tuesday.
"We have no idea if Arup was into drugs. We want the culprits to be punished," added the father.
A recent survey on the criminal psychology of teenagers and youths here said the new generation was involved in more criminal activities than the previous generations.
According to a recent survey, students, especially teenagers, jump into criminal activities easily for various reasons like drugs and other disorders like impulsive behaviour.

"Arup's murder is not an isolated case. Our study says that the teenagers in the state have a keen attachment to violence and criminal activities. Some take to it due to substantive drug abuse. Influenced by quick money culture, youths have now started to commit petty crimes and major criminal activity.
It has become a big threat for the society," said Gariasi Dutta, psychological counselor of Downtown Hospital, Guwahati.
