SBI Ladies' Club organizes Basant mela

GUWAHATI: The State Bank of India Ladies' Club (northeast circle) organized a Basant Mela at its local head office here on Wednesday. The mela had many food and games stalls.
Ladies' Club president Reeta Kumar and secretary Madhulika Bokil said the fund raised from the mela will be used for charitable and philanthropic activities undertaken by the club, like running an activity centre in Guwahati that provides free vocational training in tailoring, cutting & knitting to women and unprivileged girls to help them set up their own business in the city and also feeding orphans.
Assamese actor Zerifa Wahid was the guest on the occasion.
