RSS condemns Manipur violence, urges Centre & state to resolve conflict without further delay

Guwahati: Denouncing the barbaric killing of women and children after holding them captive for days, RSS Monday urged the Centre as well as the state govt to resolve the ongoing conflict in Manipur without delay.
The Manipur unit of RSS issued a statement saying it is deplorable that the violence, which first erupted 19 months ago on May 3 last year, remains unresolved. "Due to the persistent violence, innocent people have suffered immensely. RSS Manipur categorically condemns inhumane, barbaric and ruthless acts of killing women and children after holding them in captivity," it stated.
Describing the latest spree of killings as cowardly, the Sangh said it violates the principles of humanity and harmonious coexistence. "The Centre and state govt should earnestly resolve the ongoing conflict without delay," it reiterated.
In the widespread violence that occurred on Saturday and Sunday, over two dozen residences of ministers, MLAs and political leaders and offices of political parties were attacked and vandalised by mobs in several districts, predominantly in Imphal East and Imphal West. This followed the discovery of the bodies of six persons at the Jiribam-Assam border on Nov 15 and 16.
The six bodies, pending identification by family members, are believed to be of the three women and three children from Meitei community missing since Nov 11 in Jiribam district.
