Shillong: The Government of Meghalaya has officially announced the establishment of a new police station in the West Garo Hills district to enhance public convenience and improve administrative efficiency. The newly created station, named Dakopgre Police Station, will serve the Dakopgre area, which will no longer fall under the jurisdiction of the Tura Police Station.According to the official notification, the boundaries of the Dakopgre Police Station are defined by Damalgre Police Station in the North, Babadam Outpost in the East, Tura Police Station in the South, and Araimile Police Station in the West.In addition to the Dakopgre Police Station, the government has also notified the creation of several new police outposts across the state. These include the Maweit Police Outpost in the West Khasi Hills District, the Ashugre Police Outpost in the South Garo Hills District, and the Jadi Police Outpost, also in the South Garo Hills District.The Maweit Police Outpost will be bordered by Nongstoin Police Station and Mawshynrut Police Station in the North, Mawkyrwat Police Station in the East, Nonghyllam Police Station in the South, and Shallang Police Station in the West.
The Ashugre Police Outpost will have its boundaries with Digranggre village under Sangknigre Police Station in the North, Deku village under Chokpot Police Station in the East, Rimrangpara village under Dalu Police Station in the South, and Sandong village under Sangknigre Police Station in the West.The Jadi Police Outpost will be bordered by Rongdong village under Siju Police Station in the North, Darang Boldak village under Nongalbibra Police Station in the East, Pattalgittim village under Nongalbibra Police Station in the South, and Simsang River and Rangram Pattal village under Shallang Police Station in the West.Furthermore, the state government has also announced the creation of a new Police Outpost at Monabari in the South West Garo Hills District, to be known as Monabari Police Outpost. The boundaries for this outpost are Kalapani Outpost under Mankachar Police Station (Assam) in the North, Garodoba Operational Group Centre and Betasing Outpost under Ampati Police Station in the East, Ampati Police Station/Mankachar Police Station (Assam) in the South, and Mankachar Police Station (Assam) in the West.
