KOHIMA: Deputy chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia and his wife reached Nagaland on Friday to participate in the Sekrenyi Festival of Angami Nagas. They went to Tuophema, the tourist village and witnessed the cultural extravaganza. Situated at a distance of 41 km from here, Tuophema is also the native village of Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
Singh said his maiden visit to Nagaland would be a memorable as it co-incides with Sekrenyi festival a time of purification and establishing new friendships. Chief minister Neiphiu Rio said their brief stay would be a pleasant experience.
