Mizoram CM to present budget on March 4

Aizawl: Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma will present the state annual budget for 2025-2026 financial year in the legislative assembly on March 4. This will be the second budget to be presented by Lalduhoma after the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) assumed power on Dec, 2023.The budget session, which is also the fourth session of the ninth state assembly, has been summoned by governor Gen. Vijay Kumar Singh to start from Feb 19. The detailed calendar of the session was chalked out on Wednesday during a meeting of the business advisory committee (BAC) chaired by assembly speaker Lalbiakzama and attended by representatives of all legislature parties.Singh will deliver his customary gubernatorial address in the assembly on the first day of the session. The session will continue till March 20. However, the date can be extended or reduced by the BAC, officials of the assembly secretariat said.
