Guwahati: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) hosted USTM Bhogali Utsav 2026 at the university’s sports arena, celebrating Magh Bihu (Bhogali Bihu), the festival of harvest.
At USTM, the event featured a Bhogali Haat (traditional mela) with more than 50 stalls offering indigenous cuisine, ethnic delicacies, handcrafted items and local products. Traditional games drew enthusiastic participation, while folk music, dance performances, and traditional attire added colour and energy to the celebration. Royal Global University (RGU) too celebrated pre-Magh Bihu and Uruka on its campus. The feature of the celebration was the installation of one of the tallest mejis in the city this year.
