Shops gutted in Dibrugarh market fire

Dibrugarh: Several shops were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at the daily market near the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) unit at Mohanbari in Dibrugarh. Quick action by ITBP personnel and local residents prevented potential casualties and a possible catastrophic explosion.
The fire, which originated in one of the wooden shops with tin roofing, rapidly spread to neighbouring establishments due to the highly combustible building materials. ITBP jawans, who were first on the scene, demonstrated remarkable courage by evacuating people and salvaging goods from the burning structures.
The ITBP personnel successfully retrieved two LPG cylinders from a burning shop, averting what could have been a catastrophic explosion in the densely populated market area.
