SILCHAR: A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Hailkandi for making a video of a train pass over him by lying dangerously between railway tracks to gain social media popularity, reports BB Goswami. The incident took place at Rangpur near Lala railway station on Monday. The footage shows Papul Alam Barbhuiya positioned between the railway tracks as a train moves precariously above him. This hazardous act, undertaken purely for social media engagement, demonstrated utter negligence towards personal safety. Barbhuiya, who works at a private company in Bengaluru, is from Rangupur. Hailakandi Police have highlighted the grave risks associated with such recordings. Additional superintendent of police (Hailakandi) Sameer Baruah said attempts to achieve viral fame through dangerous acts on public roads, railway tracks, or community spaces will attract strict legal action.
