Karimganj, Dharmanagar in Tripura receive highest rainfall in 24 hours in northeast

SILCHAR: Karimganj district of Assam and neighbouring Panisagar area of Dharmanagar in North Tripura district received heavy rainfall in Northeast over the past 24 hours.
According to the daily weather report of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati, under the India Meteorological Department, Karimganj and Panisagar area of Dharmanagar received 10 centimetres of rain over the past 24 hours which is the highest amount of rainfall in the northeast during the period.

Available data indicates that light to moderate rain occurred at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram and light rain occurred at isolated places over Tripura with isolated heavy rain over Assam and Tripura during the past 24 hours. Day temperatures had no significant change over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram markedly fell over Meghalaya and appreciably fell over Assam and Tripura during the past 24 hours.
According to Tuesday’s forecast, light to moderate rain is likely at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, at a few places over Assam and Meghalaya and light rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
“Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura,” the weather report said.
Guwahati will have a partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundershowers and lightning. Maximum and minimum temperatures are most likely to be 31°C & 19°C.
