Aizawl: A freelance journalist, Ezrela Dalidia Fanaipari Fanai, was found dead in her home at the Khatla neighbourhood in Aizawl on Thursday. No foul play has been suspected by police.
Family sources said Fanai was supposed to have dinner at her aunt’s house on Christmas eve but never turned up and also did not respond to phone calls.
The relatives, worried about her condition after her mother’s recent death, visited her home on Thursday at 10am and found her home was locked from inside. She used to live alone.
After a forced entry, they found her body near her bed and notified police. Police officials who conducted a probe did not find any evidence to suspect foul play. Her relatives’ request for not conducting an autopsy was accepted by a magistrate.
