IAS probationers get first-hand experience of district administration in Tinsukia
Dibrugarh: Looking to gain practical exposure, 18 IAS probationers from Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, visited Tinsukia district on Wednesday as part of their winter study tour.
Under the guidance of Tinsukia district commissioner Swapneel Paul, the probationers undertook extensive field visits, across various parts of the district, gaining valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations and challenges of district administration. The tour provided them with a unique opportunity to observe and understand the implementation of govt schemes and administrative procedures at the ground level.
A highlight of the visit was a two-hour interactive session between the probationers and DC Swapneel Paul, where the young officers engaged in detailed discussions about various aspects of district administration. Paul, who belongs to the 2018 batch of IAS officers, shared his personal experiences and insights.
"This kind of practical exposure is invaluable for young officers. It helps them understand the real challenges and complexities involved in district administration. When I was a probationer, similar exposure visits helped shape my understanding of administration. Today, as a serving officer, I can confidently say that these experiences are crucial in moulding effective administrators," Paul said.
The probationers showed keen interest in understanding the unique challenges faced by Tinsukia district, particularly in areas such as rural development, law and order and implementation of welfare schemes. They raised numerous questions about the practical aspects of administration and strategies employed to address local issues.
