GUWAHATI: Following a brief lull after the devastating first wave of floods, heavy showers are likely to pound Assam and the northeast once again. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to very heavy rain in the next four days in the state from Sunday.
The Regional Meteorological Centre of IMD on Saturday warned thunderstorm and lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam on Sunday, while heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places over the state simultaneously. The national bulletin of IMD stated that light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over the NE region during the next five days.
