While some passengers had written on social media that the aircraft had turned back due to a ‘bird hit’, GoAir denied these reports. The flight had taken off from Guwahati around 11 am and turned back soon after.

“GoAir flight G8 546 from Guwahati to Kolkata did an air turn back due to a technical glitch,” an airline spokesperson said.

“After turn back, the flight landed safely at Kolkata airport with 132 passengers on board. The aircraft is being inspected and rectified by GoAir engineering team. Alternate flight arrangements are being explored to accommodate the passengers to their destination. GoAir regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers,” the spokesperson added.
