Shillong: Justice Revati Mohite Dere on Saturday was sworn in as matrilineal Meghalaya’s first woman chief justice at the Durbar Hall of Lok Bhavan, Shillong.
Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar administered the oath of office to Justice Dere, after Chief Justice Soumen Sen was transferred to Kerala high court. Prior to her appointment, Justice Dere served as a judge at the Bombay high court.
